Bitter Truth of Society

Embracing Authenticity in a Judgmental World

People are often quick to judge others based on appearance, lifestyle, and the personality they portray. Whether as a victim or an assailant, everyone has been involved in this cycle at some point. What I love about freedom is the liberty to express who you truly are. We live in an era where even a baby has the freedom to express emotions. However, it becomes overwhelming when we allow society to dictate who we should be.

Many who condemn certain behaviors as "bad" are often hypocrites—what they label as "good" can sometimes be far worse than the actions they criticize.

The Pressures of Society on Young Men

For a young man stepping into society, the expectations can be daunting. Family, friends, and societal standards demand a lot, often focusing on secondary needs while ignoring primary ones. Nobody cares how you pay your bills—it’s your problem to figure out. Yet, ironically, your appearance becomes everyone's concern.

Appearance is a currency in society. It influences how people perceive you and can open doors to opportunities. Your status symbol is tied to it, as people often judge how "successful" you are based on how you look. I’ve heard men say, “Who cares how I look?” but honestly, neglecting your appearance can harm your career and social standing.

The Hypocrisy Around Hustling

Your hustle, the way you make ends meet, is another area where people are quick to judge. The same individuals who mock your efforts will also ridicule you if you fail to meet your needs or ask for help.

The Bible says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” This is a reminder to stay focused and diligent in your work, regardless of what it is. Many top wealthy individuals faced immense challenges to reach the top, but their stories are often sugar-coated. Trust me, some parts of success stories are best kept private, so judging others' paths is pointless.

The Unique Challenges of Women in the 21st Century

Being a woman today comes with its own set of challenges, often more intense than what men face. As a young woman, dealing with societal expectations, peer pressure, and gender stereotypes can be overwhelming.

Peer pressure, for instance, is often mistaken for jealousy. It subtly influences women to conform to certain standards—whether it's about age, body type, or financial status. Add to this the clash of toxic masculinity and extremist feminist ideologies, and life becomes even more exhausting.

What happened to the days when you didn’t need a degree or a fat bank account to find a partner? What happened to casual gatherings where you didn’t have to wear your best to fit in? Today, appearance has become a top priority for both genders.

The Reality of Childhood Dreams and Life’s Unpredictability

Many childhood dreams remain just that—dreams. Most successful individuals didn’t end up in the careers they once envisioned. Sometimes, you give your all to something with high hopes, only to see others surpass you in no time. It’s disheartening, but life isn’t about comparison.

Finding your path means creating your own formula. In life, it doesn’t matter how you solve the equation as long as the result is right. Success is about figuring out what works for you, not copying others.

Breaking Free from Societal Expectations

Don’t let societal expectations weigh you down. Break the rules if you have to—after all, rules were made to be challenged. Do what you need to survive because, in the end, it’s your success story that matters.

Above all, remember to prioritize your mental health. Feed your mind with positive "nutrients," stay focused, and always put God first.

Cheers to embracing your authentic self!
