Understanding can sometimes be demanding, both emotionally and mentally. Expecting to be understood is one of the most unrealistic demands you can place on someone. In fact, we often struggle to understand ourselves, let alone someone whose personality and life perspective are completely different from our own.

You don’t need to fully understand someone to coexist or relate with them. The most important aspect of friendship—or any relationship—is connection: finding value in their presence and personality.

Going through life can be draining, and doing it alone is exhausting. However, the universe never ceases to bring certain types of people into our lives, both good and bad. Sometimes, you meet people with genuine intentions, yet you find yourself filled with doubt, hoping to understand them and vice versa. Life has a way of gifting—or perhaps rewarding—you with imperfections.

How do you explain praying for light, only to find that, when it’s time to sleep, you can’t turn it off because that option isn’t available? You’re left straining your eyes and struggling to close them.

How do you stop a tap from running after being thirsty for decades? How do you resist stepping outside after feeling trapped all your life?

There is never a perfect time. The best things in life often come when we least expect them. They may start as a joke and then—boom—reality sets in. The most difficult thing to embrace is uncertainty. Yet, sometimes, you just have to learn to be dynamic and open-minded.

I say, don’t be quick to condemn anything because one day, you might find yourself doing it with impunity. Taboos exist because certain things make us uncomfortable, disgusted, or uneasy.

My greatest fear in life is the inability to achieve financial freedom and experience true love. What is yours? To what extent are you willing to sacrifice to confront your fears? Nothing is as easy as planning or dreaming big. It’s important to ask yourself: are your dreams just for feel-good purposes, or do you actually want to live them before you kick the bucket?

Life is like a rollercoaster. It loses its meaning without the ups and downs and the intense emotions that come from agonizing excitement. Sometimes, we are not in control of the paths we walk or the decisions we make. Every mistake may seem entirely our fault, yet we often give credit to the universe when things turn out well.

I believe it’s not always necessary to have evidence to conclude that not every terrible decision or path we take is entirely our fault. This isn’t an attempt to dodge responsibility or avoid accountability—it’s simply a matter of perspective.

I am not encouraging pride in irresponsible decisions. Rather, I want to help you understand that they are all part of life. Even in moments of darkness, it can be hard to see the brighter side. The ability to predict future events would be ideal, but uncertainty is part of what makes life meaningful.

If you ask me whether I’m scared, my answer would be a resounding YES. I am afraid, but not paranoid. I fear the unknown. I hesitate to lean on a shoulder already burdened by heavy weight, and I’m cautious about holding a hand that’s already grasped by so many others. I am wary of putting my trust in a place where there’s little to no room, and I’m reluctant to give my all. Sometimes, mere reassurance isn’t enough.

But who are we to question the universe? Mother Nature always knows what’s best. You need to learn to embrace your path with grace when it feels right.

Very insightful.
Just like Wale Adenuga said 'we are nothing but pencils in the hand of the creator'.
